The Out Islands do have some resorts, but they are not the huge all-inclusives surrounded by nightlife that you'll see around Nassau or on Grand Bahama. Hotels here are hideaways where you can enjoy a much more tranquil evening.

Guesthouses are the truly Bahamian way to stay in the islands. These are where the locals stay when they travel. Keep in mind that, like other guesthouses throughout the Caribbean, the term can mean almost anything. From roadside motels to small cottages with their own kitchens, you'll find all kinds of guesthouses in the Bahamas.
